Words 2 riches Spelling B

On Monday November 7th, the NBOBA & WSU community affairs committee hosted our 1st Annual Words 2 riches spelling B. It was a tremendous success and the 4th an 5th graders that participated were sent from the heavens to grace our community. The winner was Mr. Blake Calloway. He will be presented with his award at our 4th Annual State of the Black Youth in the New Millennium Convention by Ms. Afeni Shakur. Special thanks to all NBOBA members and official supporters for your show of support. To Dawoud, Dennis, Jamere, Damon, Jessica, Ijala, Krish, Glenisha, Zack, Marissa and all others that showed support- peace and love.

A tree without roots will not produce fruit. Meaning that us as a people without any knowledge or understanding about our ancestors and their struggles, will not be able to teach or guide the youth into a positive future. We aknowledge and understand that without education our youth are lost! That is why the NBOBA has initiated programs such as the Words 2 Riches Spelling B, the 4th Annual State of the Black Youth in the New Millennium Convention, and the S.O.Y. (Support Our Youth) Mentoring Program. Peace to everyone who has put in work to get these programs off the ground and helped to manifest them into a physical reality because these seeds are our future.
